A portrait of someone you love in the Palette Knife style
Paint laid on with a knife in flat, ridged planes of high colour — the style that shows the raised surface best, from $69.

What Palette Knife does with a portrait. The face in wide knife strokes of high colour — bold and modern, best for one person or a couple rather than a group, where the simplification would lose the smaller faces.
The photo. Daylight, eyes visible, the face filling a good part of the frame. Older, scanned or slightly blurred photos usually work at 8×10 to 16×20. We never smooth, slim or retouch a face.
The size. 16×20 in a hallway; 24×36 for a single face over a console table or a mantel.
How to start. Upload one photo and see it painted in Palette Knife free, in about fifteen seconds. Leave an email to see the other five styles and make up to three free adjustments. A person checks the full-resolution proof and you approve it before anything prints; if it isn't right, we repaint it free.
