What Palette Knife does with a cat. The head is built from flat, hard-edged planes of colour laid on with a knife — the boldest of our styles. Clear shapes win: a dog's head, a horse in profile. Fine detail is deliberately simplified; the markings are kept.
The photo. Window light, eyes open and level with the camera, a slight turn of the head. Cats rarely hold still, so take ten photos and upload the sharpest; the preview is free.
The size. 12×18 to 16×24 — cats suit smaller, jewel-like sizes on a dark ground; 24×36 if the cat is the room's main character.
